Cardio interval training has proven to be one of the most effective means of raising the bodies metabolic rate, improving overall fitness and burning fat in a safe, time efficient manner.
It works by alternating between a moderate speed and resistance for 1 minute, followed by increased speed and resistance for a further minute, this being repeated for a total of 21 minutes.
Why 21 minutes exactly?
Research has shown that this time is optimal, as after this point the body starts to adapt and the joints begin to experience unnecessary wear and tear.
By utilising the static bike, X-Trainer and rower, low impact intervals are prescribed at the levels specific to every individual clients ability and needs, with monthly checks made to ensure that as you get fitter, the intervals remain challenging.
